History of Orchard Avenue Baptist Church

The year was 1954, Vacaville was just a small town with a group of people wanting to gather together to serve the Lord. They started meeting at various locations throughout Vacaville under the name Vacaville Bible Mission.

In 1955, the church was incorporated under the name Independent Bible Baptist Church, and in 1958 God provided the present location at the corner of Hemlock and Orchard Ave., at which time the name was changed to Orchard Avenue Baptist Church.

1959-1962 saw many buildings built, including classrooms and a 200 seat Sanctuary.

The church continued to grow and in 1990 we began holding two Sunday morning services. In 1994, with God's leading, we began to plan for a new building and on February 9, 2003, we dedicated our new 500 seat worship sanctuary.
